Qualifying for University

Qualifying for University

This page provides information on the opportunities available at UK Universities 2018/19. These are courses which will enable you to obtain the necessary qualifications to progress to study at degree level. This includes Foundation degrees, certificates or modules, IELTS (International English Language Testing System) courses, as well as other English Language qualifications.

Foundation Degrees: enable students to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in a subject to undertake further study at degree level. For more detailed information on specific foundation courses, please refer to the university website, links are included in the table.

IELTS: is an international standardised test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers and a requirement for all non-native English speakers who wish to study at university. Where indicated on the table below, universities offer an IELTS course which, dependent on the level of qualification you acheive, can enable you to apply for further study at the university of your choice. The minimum scores required for entry onto a university degree course vary by institution, and by programme of study, so please check individual university websites for further information or contact directly the university you wish to apply to.

Cetificate course: is a modular course which, upon completion, could support students in obtaining the credits required to access an undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme.
